Ambassador Dang Thi Thu Ha reviewed Vietnam’s achievements over the past eight decades, highlighting similarities that connect the two nations despite geographical distance. She stressed that bilateral relations, nurtured by generations of leaders, have made important progress in recent years, particularly in trade, economic cooperation, and defense.

Present at the event, Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Berris Ekinci conveyed best wishes from the Turkish leadership to Vietnam, recalling the significance of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s visit to Türkiye in 2023 and the outcomes of the official visit to Vietnam by Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Güler on September 10-11, 2025.
She affirmed Turkey’s desire to deepen cooperation with Vietnam, noting that since establishing diplomatic ties in 1978, the two countries have maintained effective collaboration in trade, investment, defense industry, culture, and tourism. Vietnam is now Türkiye’s second-largest trading partner among ASEAN member states.
The celebration featured traditional Vietnamese cultural performances, including folk instruments and songs. Guests also explored photo displays of Vietnam’s diverse regions and enjoyed signature dishes from the country’s three regions.
Earlier, on September 2, Ankara’s iconic Atakule Tower was illuminated in red, with a digital message reading “Happy National Day of Vietnam” in both Turkish and English.
