The Philippines’ National Day celebrated in Hanoi
PANO - The Embassy of the Philippines in Hanoi held a party on June 12 evening to mark the country’s 120th National Day.
The Vietnamese Minister of Culture, Sport and Tourism, Nguyen Ngoc Thien; Deputy-Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, Major General Ngo Minh Tien and representatives from foreign diplomatic corps in Hanoi attended the event.

In his speech, the Filipino Ambassador to Vietnam Noel Servigon emphasized that this was a chance to reminisce about the fight for national independence and to honor those who had bravely fought for the freedom of the Philippines.
Regarding the bilateral ties between the Philippines and Vietnam, the Filipino diplomat said that apart from present achievements, there remains much room for the two countries to boost their cooperation in the future.
For his part, Minister Thien congratulated the Philippines on its important accomplishments in national construction and development. He believed that on the basis of the current fruitful foundations and the common efforts of the two countries, the bilateral relationship would develop stronger for the sakes of the two peoples and in contribution to peace, stability and development in the region and improved connectivity among ASEAN member nations.
Earlier, on June 11 in Hanoi, the Vietnam-Philippines Friendship Association hosted a ceremony to celebrate the National Day of the Philippines.
