The vaccine transport boxes numbered RCW25 manufactured by the B Medical Systems will be used to transport vaccines from the storage to inoculation stations. The box is able to maintain cold conditions for vaccines that must be stored at a temperature range of 2˚C to 8˚C.
Speaking at the event, NIHE‘s Director Prof., Dr. Dang Duc Anh held that Vietnam has administered 96 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines. He stressed that the Japanese Government has donated over 4 million of vaccine doses so far. The country is currently implementing a nationwide vaccination campaign; therefore, these gifts will contribute to safely deliver the vaccines to localities, he added.
In turn, JICA Vietnam’s Chief Representative Shimizu Akira expressed his hope that the vaccine transport boxes will back the national vaccination campaign of Vietnam in the time to come.
Also, he noted that JICA is currently implementing a cooperation program with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in a project to prevent infection and intensify epidemiological control at border gates. Through this support program worth JPY 20 million, JICA helps train and improve the capacity of Vietnam’s border gate staff on disease control, and provides personal protective equipment and equipment necessary for hand hygiene.
JICA pledges to continue working with the Japanese Government to support Vietnam in early controlling the COVID-19 pandemic.
