Ho Chi Minh City, Gyeongsangbuk province establish friendly, cooperative relationship
PANO – Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong received the Governor of Gyeongsangbuk province of the Republic of Korea (RoK), Kim Kwan Yong, on December 3.
The two sides then signed a memorandum of understanding on the establishment of the friendly and cooperative relationship between Ho Chi Minh City and Gyeongsangbuk province.

At the event, Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong expressed joy over the success the two localities in co-hosting the Ho Chi Minh City - Gyeongsangbuk World Culture Expo 2017. This is a large-scale event featuring various activities attracting a lot of people in Ho Chi Minh City and Gyeongsangbuk province. The expo has contributed to further strengthening the positive Vietnam-RoK relationship. The RoK Governor stressed that the event has helped push forwards cooperation between Vietnam and the RoK as well as between the two localities in various fields such as culture, sports, tourism.
According to the memorandum of understanding, the two localities agreed to boost exchanges and cooperation in such areas as trade and investment, education, tourism, health, and hi-tech agriculture.
The two sides will facilitate exchanges between their businesses by means of organizing business conferences, fairs and expos, etc. They will also hold training courses and support regular exchanges among young entrepreneurs.
Additionally, the two localities agreed to promote student exchanges, cultural exchanges, cooperation between officials of the two localities, and more.
