For his part, Hung congratulated Vientiane on its significant achievements, especially high economic growth rate and locals’ improving living conditions.

Both sides pledged to work closely in carrying out their important roles this year as hosts of events marking the 55th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic relations as well as 40 years since the two countries signed their friendship and cooperation treaty.

They discussed ways to boost cooperation and experience sharing in the sectors of urban transport, trade connectivity and administrative reform towards the single-window mechanism.

They also mentioned the opening of a Hanoi restaurant in Vientiane and a Vientiane restaurant in Hanoi to promote their respective culinary delights.

On March 14, Hung and his delegation will attend the 10th Regional Environmentally Sustainable Transport Forum, themed “2030 Road Map for Sustainable Transport - Aligning with Sustainable Development Goals”.
