The visit, from August 23-26, comes shortly after Viet Nam and Côte d’Ivoire marked the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic relations (October 6, 1975 – 2025). It is a vivid testament to the enduring friendship nurtured between the two countries over the past half century, while demonstrating the strong determination of their leaders to usher bilateral ties – particularly parliamentary and economic-trade cooperation – into a new phase of deeper, more substantive and effective development.
Spokeswoman for the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang said this is the second visit to Viet Nam by a head of Côte d’Ivoire’s legislature within just three years. Notably, this is also the first time the Ivorian N.A. has organized a delegation dedicated to in-depth study, experience-sharing and exchanges with its Vietnamese counterpart, reflecting Côte d’Ivoire’s high regard for Viet Nam and its legislature.
During the visit, N.A. President Achi is expected to meet with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee and President To Lam, hold talks with N.A. President Man, and meet other senior Vietnamese leaders to discuss measures to further promote bilateral cooperation.
