Cooperation between HCMC and Finland to be expanded
PANO - Pointing out that there remains much room for further cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) and Finland, Nguyen Thanh Phong, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh municipal People’s Committee, hoped the two sides would carry out more practical and effective cooperation programs in the coming time.
Phong expressed his hope at a reception for Kari Kahiluoto, Finnish Ambassador to Vietnam, on the afternoon of October 26 in HCMC.
According to Phong, the city and Finland should expand their cooperation in education, clean technologies, water treatment, innovative management and the building of startup ecosystem.

Phong added that the city pays due attention to the above-mentioned areas and wanted more foreign businesses, including those from Finland, to explore and invest in the city.
For his part, Kari Kahiluoto said that Finnish businesses have advantages in the above fields and expressed his hope that the two sides would expand their cooperation in the near future.
The Finnish Ambassador held that the country is carrying out a number of practical cooperation programs to promote its cooperation with HCMC. He noted some programs, including the event “Accompanying Finland”, which is part of a series of activities during the HCMC startup and innovative week, the program “Finnish classes” at Ton Duc Thang University, and an upcoming fact-finding trip to the city by Finnish businesses.
