Addressing the event, Roberto Morales Ojeda said that the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), founded 95 years ago under the leadership of President Ho Chi Minh, has served as a guiding light for the Vietnamese people in their struggle against colonialism and imperialism, and in the construction of a socialist society. Under the wise and visionary leadership of the CPV, the country gained independence and national reunification, and has achieved remarkable success in its Doi Moi (Renewal) scheme since 1986, transforming itself into one of the world’s most dynamic economies today.

Entering a new era, the CPV has continued to lead the country in its digital transformation, innovation, and sustainable development, working to build a prosperous and powerful nation, he stated.

The Cuban official reaffirmed the deep friendship between the two nations, underlining that “Cuba is in the heart of Vietnam, and Vietnam is in the heart of Cuba.”

This exemplary Vietnam-Cuba relationship and the leadership of the two Communist Parties will continue to inspire future generations in the fight for a fairer, more just, and humane world, he said.

For his part, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Le Quang Long underscored that the event is an important occasion to honor the glorious history of the CPV, its significant contributions to Vietnam’s revolutionary cause, and its positive impact on the global movements for peace, national independence, and progress. He also highlighted the enduring solidarity between the two Parties, as well as the special bond between the two nations.

Over the 95-year journey, despite challenges, Vietnam has always valued and expressed its gratitude for the steadfast support of its brother Communist Parties, especially the PCC that stood by Vietnam during its most difficult moments.

Ambassador Long reiterated that the unique and friendly relationship, and solidarity between the two Parties has provided a political foundation for the comprehensive development of the Vietnam-Cuba bilateral ties. This relationship, built on revolutionary solidarity and enduring friendship between the two peoples, was first established by President Ho Chi Minh and Leader Fidel Castro Ruz, and has been continuously nurtured over 65 years by successive leaders and the people of both nations.
