The ambitious goal of getting turnover of 800 million USD from software services, including 320 million USD from software exports, by the end of 2010, is feasible, said Doctor Hoang Le Minh, Vice Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Posts and Telecommunications Department.
Mr Minh introduced a report which says that Vietnam ranks 20th in the world in making software.
At present, with 35,000 full-time professionals, Vietnam’s software business is done by 750 firms, of which, 150 take part in exporting software products.
With these advantages, the Vietnam Software Association (Vinasa) hopes to turn Vietnam into a leading destination for international software processing, training centres and providing IT workers for the world market.
