PANO - The Vietnam International Agricultural Fair 2012, jointly organized by the Ministries of Agriculture and Rural Development, Trade and Industry and the People’s Committee of Can Tho City, ended on November 21st in Can Tho City. The six-day event attracted more than 150,000 visitors.

Under the theme, “Cooperation to develop agriculture, promote export and build new rural areas”, this year’s fair saw the participation of 283 businesses with 4,700 products, including fertilizer, pesticide, rice, seeds and technical materials for the agricultural industry. Among the displayed products, 750 were being introduced to consumers for the first time.

During the event, more than 20,000 farmers were provided with agricultural production techniques and consultancy by businesses and scientists, and around 760 contracts, worth VND 170 billion, were signed between businesses.

The organizing panel presented gold medals to six businesses with 9 products meeting the quality criteria, and certificates of merit to 8 farmers with special products.
