Highlighting the city’s development strategy, Director of the Department of Science and Technology Lam Dinh Thang emphasised that from 2026 to 2030, with a vision to 2045, Ho Chi Minh City will prioritise science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation as key pillars alongside the digital economy, circular economy, and green economy. The city aims to build a comprehensive innovation ecosystem where ideas can be tested, businesses supported, and policies implemented.
Plans include establishing an internationally recognised innovation and startup centre, leveraging public and private investment, and promoting the creation of a venture capital fund to support innovative startups. The city focuses on three areas to drive breakthroughs in science and technology: policies, infrastructure, and human resources. Ho Chi Minh City is piloting national policies, creating investment-friendly regulations, and investing in technology and innovation infrastructure, such as SIHUB, with more innovation centres planned.
Thang said the city is committed to creating favourable conditions for science, innovation, and digital transformation to become major drivers of socio-economic development.
Huynh Cong Thang, CEO of InnoLab Asia, noted that the summit serves as a bridge connecting government, businesses, research institutes, investors, and startups, integrating Vietnam into the global innovation network.
Over two days, participants discuss three main topics: promoting innovation through science, technology, and digital transformation, mobilising private resources, and breakthrough innovation - from smart infrastructure to global markets. Parallel sessions address specialised topics, including future talent and innovation capacity, ESG, sustainable manufacturing, green finance, digital finance, Blockchain, AI, and international financial ecosystems.
A highlight of the summit is the 1:1 Business Matching programme, enabling Vietnamese companies in AI, blockchain, Fintech, ESG, green energy, and smart logistics to meet and expand international collaborations.
The Vietnam Innovation Summit, an annual international forum organised by InnoLab Asia, not only discusses policy and trends but also serves as a global bridge, bringing knowledge, resources, and cooperation opportunities from advanced innovation ecosystems worldwide to Vietnam, while showcasing Vietnamese potential and initiatives to the regional and global stage.
