The aggregate turnover for forestry has reached US$ 360 million in the first two months.
Of the figure, exports of timber and wooden products make up US$ 319 million, a sharp rise year on year, which is viewed by experts as a good signal for timber exports in 2010.
Vietnam’s timber industry will expand and reorganize nationwide material center and market systems as well as launch trade promotion programs and seek new export markets in order to boost timber exports, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Recently, the Ministry of Finance issued Public Document 23/2010/TT-BTC on the tariff amendment, under which some timber products could enjoy tax holiday.
