Techfest Vietnam 2023 is organized by the Department of Market Development and Science and Technology Enterprises (Ministry of Science and Technology), in coordination with the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), the Startup Vietnam Foundation (SVF), the Office of Project 844, and the National Startup Support Center (NSSC). The event aims to attract thousands of innovative start-ups, support units, experts, and investors in various technology fields and aspects related to entrepreneurship and innovation, both domestically and internationally.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Van Tung highlighted that the Ministry of Science and Technology has organized numerous activities in celebration of Vietnam Science and Technology Day (May 18th). The Techfest Vietnam 2023 launching ceremony is one of the events in response to Vietnam Science and Technology Day. Techfest has become a reputable and expanding annual event organized by various organizations, agencies, committees, sectors, and localities. Its purpose is to promote the national start-up and innovation ecosystem.
Notably, Techfest is supported by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, creating opportunities to promote Vietnam's startup and innovation ecosystem abroad.
Techfest 2023 will feature over 30 technology villages, including new ones, addressing issues in promising fields such as smart agriculture, clean pharmaceuticals, Metaverse, and digital transformation. Innovation activities will be encouraged and developed within the technology villages through self-proposed topics, challenges, and incentives to drive and motivate technological initiatives. This approach aims to foster a pro-active and effective mindset to meet the needs of local and international governments, markets, and domestic enterprises.
Key activities of Techfest 2023 include the National Start-up and Innovation Talent Search Competition, focused investment connection activities to support projects from institutes and universities with application capabilities, multilateral dialogues among local authorities, innovative enterprises, and domestic and international experts to analyze and evaluate root issues in local socio-economic development, as well as in-depth entrepreneurship training programs.
Techfest 2023 will also organize international networking activities, strengthening cooperation with technology powerhouses such as Australia, the United States, Canada, and the Republic of Korea. These activities provide opportunities for Vietnamese start-ups to develop markets, attract international investment resources, and serve as a platform to introduce and promote Vietnam's dynamic start-up and innovation ecosystem to the world.
