The Vietnam Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex) on December 1st officially inaugurated a garment factory in Son Dong District, Bac giang.

A number of high-ranking central and local officials, including Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Ho Thi Kim Hai, Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Bui Van Hai, and General-Director of Vinatex, Tran Quang Nghi, attended the ceremony.

The whole project covers an area of 37,000 square meters, including 30,000 square meters for management, storage and production and 7,000 square meters for worker hostel.

The factory has now officially operated and attracted 350 workers and 110 apprentices.

The investment for the project is only VND 45.7 billion, but it is viewed as a realisation of the commitment between Vinatex and Bac Giang Province on the group’s assisting Bac Giang poor localities.

Local officials hope that the factory will help the locality to soon step out of the national list of districts of special difficulties.
