The Russian State Nuclear Energy Corporation (Rosatom) plans to build a nuclear technology and research centre in Vietnam under an agreement between the two Governments.
The information was revealed by Rosatom Deputy Director General Vyacheslav. A. Pershukov at a ceremony to grant the company’s prizes to Vietnam’s outstanding nuclear workers in Da Lat city, the Central Highland province of Lam Dong on March 18.
The centre, to be constructed in Da Lat city, will include a nuclear reactor with a capacity of 15MW, 30 times that of the Da Lat reactor, he said.
Rosatom will also build a theory research establishment in Hanoi, he added.
Once operational, these facilities will meet scientific and technological demands for training the personnel for Vietnam’s nuclear power projects.
