Reference exchange rate down on week’s beginning
The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate on October 22 at 22,717 VND per USD, down 2 VND from the last working day of previous week (October 19).
With the current trading band of +/- 3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is 23,398 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,036 VND/USD.
The opening hour rates at commercial banks saw only slight changes.
Vietcombank kept its rates unchanged from October 19, listing the buying rate at 23,300 VND/USD, and the selling rate at 23,390 VND/USD.
BIDV cut both rates by 5 VND, listing the buying rate at 23,300 VND/USD, and the selling rate at 23,390 VND/USD.
Techcombank also maintained the same rates as on October 19 at 23,280 VND/USD (buying) and 23,390 VND/USD (selling).
Last week the reference exchange rate was on a downward trend since the beginning of the week (October 15) and went up on the last two days.
