Reference exchange rate goes up on October 18
The State Bank of Vietnam adjusted the daily reference exchange rate up on October 18, setting the rate at VND 22,717 per USD, an increase of VND 2 from the previous day.
With the current trading band of +/- 3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is VND 23,398 per USD and the floor rate VND 22,035 per USD.
The opening hour rates at commercial banks also increased from the previous day.
Both Vietcombank and BIDV kept the buying rate unchanged from October 17 at 23,295 VND/USD, and raised the selling rate by VND 10 to VND 23,385 per USD.
Techcombank kept the buying rate unchanged from the previous day at VND 23,275 per USD but added VND 5 to the selling rate, listing the rate at VND 23,385 per USD.
The reference exchange rate was on a downward trend since the beginning of this week (October 15) before going up on October 18.
