Cat Bi International Airport is a major international airport in Vietnam’s aviation network and plays a crucial role in the socio-economic development strategy of Hai Phong city, the Northern coastal region, and the Red River Delta.
Since the airport launched international routes in 2014, it has seen rapid growth in passenger volume. In 2024, the number of passengers exceeded the design capacity of Terminal T1 (2 million passengers/year). Therefore, continued investment in new facilities and projects at Cat Bi International Airport, in accordance with the approved master plan, is both necessary and urgent.

Speaking at the event, ACV’s Deputy General Director Nguyen Tien Viet stated that phase 2 of the Apron Expansion Project at Cat Bi International Airport has a total investment of VND 1,151 billion. In the short-term, five aircraft parking positions will be built for Code C aircraft (or equivalent to one Code E and three Code C), covering nearly 47,700 square meters. The construction is scheduled to last 12 months from the groundbreaking date. Once completed, the expanded apron will significantly improve service capacity for both domestic and international flights.
Corps 12 (or Truong Son Construction Corporation) and the Airport Construction Corporation of the Air Defense - Air Force Service are honored to be entrusted with the implementation of this vital package.
With 66-year tradition and advanced machinery and modern technology, Corps 12 is committed to working closely with the contractors to complete phase 2 on schedule, ensuring high quality and aesthetics, worthy of the trust placed by leaders of ministries and central and local authorities, and ACV.
