The PM pledged that the Government will offer all possible support to investors and protect their rights, including sugar producing firms.

PM Phuc asked the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to consider the farm’s model to learn from its experience in developing hi-tech agriculture.

While visiting the Tanifood agricultural product processing plant invested by Lavifood Company, the government leader lauded it as the first modern large-scale farm produce processing project in the country.

Built in middle 2017 on a site of 15ha at the cost of VND 1.5 trillion (USD 66 million), the plant will have a fresh vegetable and fruit processing assembly line using thermal treatment technology.

Once operational in November 2018, it is expected to process 500 tons of materials per day, including mangos, passion fruits, pineapples and dragon fruits.

PM Phuc expressed his hope that the project will help realize his message conveyed at the recently-held national conference on promoting agriculture investment that in the next decade, Vietnam’s agriculture sector will be among the top 15 globally, with farm produce processing sector placing 10th.

He asked provincial authorities to help farmers prepare materials to prevent a shortage of supply once the plant is put into operation, as well as ensure stable purchasing prices for farmers.
