Krong Pac durian festival starts
PANO - The opening ceremony of the first Krong Pac durian festival in 2022 under the theme “Krong Pac – Aspiration for rise” took place on September 1 at Tan An lake square in Phuoc An townlet, Krong Pac district, Dak Lak province.

Addressing the event, secretary of the district Party Committee Tran Hong Tien informed that together with coffee, Krong Pac farmers also plant durian trees, bringing in high economic efficiency. The district’s revenue in durians reached a turnover of VND 2 trillion last year. In this year’s crop, the durian output is estimated to reach nearly 50,000 tons and farmers hope to earn about VND 2.5 trillion, contributing to the local socio-economic development.
In March 2022, the National Office of Intellectual Property under the Ministry of Science and Technology granted a collective trade mark certificate to Krong Pac durian. This was the district’s joy and pride and opened up an opportunity for Krong Pac durian to reach domestic and international consumers.
The first Krong Pac durian festival is a turning point to improve the trademark of local durian products. Taking place from August 30 to September 3, the festival has various interesting activities, such as a conference to call on investment and sustainable agricultural development in the locality, a fair on “One commune One product” products and local fruits.

During the festival, visitors have chances to visit a farm growing banana for export in Vu Bon commune, CADA plantation historical relic site, taste durian right at gardens, and tour Pacific leather wear factory.
Attentively, a balloon performance is hoped to entertain visitors as well.
Miss Vietnam Environment Nguyen Thanh Ha, Miss Teen United Nations Truong Phuong Nga, Miss Teen Internatinal Onal Ngo Ngoc Gia Han attend the festival with various activities to popularize local durian products.
