Ho Chi Minh City announces program to help start-up projects
PANO – Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Science and Technology on December 28 announced a program to support Vietnamese start-up projects in the period of 2016-2020.
Accordingly, individuals, groups, and businesses, whose start-up projects have not received any support from the State budget, are eligible for the program. Start-up projects in mechanics, automation, plastic, rubber, to name but a few will receive VND 2 billion each.

Addressing the event, Nguyen Viet Dung, the municipal department’s Director said that the program aimed to widen and strengthen the start-up community, making contributions to developing the city.
In the coming time, the department will continue setting up consultation networks and build a creative start-up ecosystem in a bid to connect start-up communities, universities, institutes, investors, and international organizations.
At the event, the participants signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on building startup ecosystem in the city.
