FPT Software has established a new development centre in Cebu, the Philippines, to enhance its presence in Asia.

The new centre, which was opened in late May, will help fulfil the company's global strategy and continuous growth. It plans to add 150 software engineers to the company's resource pool by the end of this year. This number will increase 10-fold by 2020, equivalent to about 1,500 employees.

Apart from the Philippines, FPT Software is also introducing a new development centre in Myanmar, which is expected to open in June. These new grounds are expected to serve as the ‘backyard' of Vietnam that will help FPT Software meet the growing global demand for software more efficiently.

"FPT Software is aiming to rake in 1 billion USD in revenue and 30,000 employees by 2020," said FPT Software CEO Nguyen Thanh Lam. In 2014, the company received 2.9 trillion VND (135 million USD) in revenue, an increase of 35 percent compared with the 2013 earning. In the past four months, it continued to achieve significant growth in revenue, reaching nearly 50 million USD, up 52 percent year-on-year.
