Petrovietnam Southern Gas Joint Stock Company (PV Gas South) on December 28 inaugurated a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) depot and port, the largest of its kind in the Mekong river delta, and a nitrogenous fertiliser storage facility at the Tra Noc 2 industrial zone in Can Tho city.
The LPG depot and port project has a total investment capital of VND 115 billion. It is expected to supply 50,000 tonnes of LPG to the south-western region annually.
The depot has a total capacity of 1,140 tonnes. The port can accommodate vessels of 2,500 tonnes and more.
The Can Tho nitrogenous fertiliser storage facility has a total investment capital of VND 24 billion and covers 10,000 square metres. It is capable of storing 9,000 tonnes of nitrogenous fertiliser and has an import/export capacity of 800 tonnes a day.
The two facilities are expected to help stabilise the market prices of LPG and nitrogenous fertiliser in the region.
