Addressing the event, Bui Trung Thuong, Trade Counsellor at the Vietnamese Embassy in India, highlighted the shift in Vietnam - India relations from traditional cooperation to partnerships based on innovation, technology, and digital transformation.

He noted that the Innovation Gateway initiative provides Vietnamese startups with access to India’s dynamic startup ecosystem and expanded market opportunities.

Sessions during the day focused on sharing experiences in building tech ecosystems, research and development collaboration, innovation commercialization, and business networking.

NASSCOM CoE representatives presented India’s tech ecosystem, emphasizing the role of centers of excellence in linking academia and industry and supporting DeepTech, artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and Industry 4.0.

Vietnamese advisors and experts, including Nguyen Bao Thuy from the National Startup Support Centre (NSSC), Chu Quang Thai, Chair of the National Innovation Startup Council, and Hoang Hong Minh, CEO of Chung Xe JSC, shared strategies for national innovation, cross-border collaboration, and DeepTech development in Vietnam.

Startups from both countries participated in two rounds of intensive mentoring on product development, business expansion, and pilot technology collaboration.

At the conclusion, participants praised the opportunity to access experts, supportive policies, and India’s tech ecosystem, suggesting future bootcamps focused on priority sectors such as HealthTech and AgriTech.

The event was regarded as a success in expanding Vietnam - India innovation cooperation and laying the foundation for the next phase of collaboration.
