Swedish businesses seek investment opportunities in HCM City
PANO - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong had a meeting on April 24 with a visiting Swedish businesses delegation, led by President of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Singapore Jan Stjernstrom.
The meeting also saw the attendance of Swedish Ambassador to Vietnam Pereric Hogberg and Swedish Ambassador to Singapore Hakan Jevrell.
Having briefed the guests on the challenges and development orientations of the city, the host applauded the active cooperation of Swedish businesses with the HCM City’s authorities, especially in fields of their strength such as high tech development and innovation solutions.
Currently, the city plans to build six metro routes. While Route 1’s project has been underway, the city is calling upon foreign counterparts to invest in the remaining routes. This also offers an investment and cooperation opportunity to Swedish businesses in this area, he said.
According to Chairman Phong, the city’s health sector is facing many difficulties such as inadequate facilities and equipment, limited human resources and hospital overload.
Sweden has successfully implemented the SymbioCare model in the health care system. This is a comprehensive business model that includes a hospital design with all associated facilities, as well as a smart operating mechanism that integrates green and efficient technologies.
The host asked Swedish medical businesses to cooperate with the city’s authorities in transferring modern technologies and new health management models as well as supporting the training of medical workers.
The municipal authorities also affirmed that the city would create favorable conditions for Swedish businesses to invest, operate and trade in the city
