The Vietnamese team got two goals in the lead thanks to a brace from striker Quoc Viet (minutes 4 and 48). Although U19 Philippines shortened the score to 1-2 in the 53rd minute, U19 Vietnam conceded two more consecutive goals thanks to Van Khang (69 minutes) and Van Truong (78 minutes) to seal the 4-1 victory.

In the following match, U19 Thailand won against U19 Myanmar 3-0, thereby temporarily leading Group A with 6 points. At 5:00 p.m. on July 6, U19 Vietnam will meet U19 Brunei in the third match of Group A.
