However, this is not the best ranking for Vietnam, as they held the 99th position in June 2011 and the 84th place in September 1998.
The team earned three wins and one draw at the ongoing ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup 2018 which has been recognized by FIFA and has received international ranking points for its matches since 2016.
Vietnam also hold the number one place in the Southeast Asian region, followed by the Philippines (globally ranked no. 114), Thailand (118), Myanmar (139), and Indonesia (160).
Belgium top the world rankings, while France, Brazil, Croatia, and England come just behind.
