Midfielder Dinh Thanh Trung, a main contributor to Quang Nam FC’s first position in the V-League last year, won the Most Valuable Player to get the Golden Ball. The 29 year-old player is also key in helping the national team through Asian Cup 2019 qualification rounds.

Trung is followed by striker Nguyen Anh Duc from Becamex Binh Duong FC and midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai of Hanoi FC.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Dang Thi Kieu Trinh (Ho Chi Minh City FC) was the Most Valuable Female Player to win the Golden Ball, followed by midfielder Tuyet Dung (Phong Phu Ha Nam Club) and striker Huynh Nhu (Trinh’s teammate). Notably, this was the third time Trinh won this title.

Striker Nguyen Cong Phuong of Hoang Anh-Gia Lai FC was awarded the Most Favorite Player.

Defender Doan Van Hau of Hanoi FC won the Young Male Player of the Year, while midfielder Nguyen Thi Van of VinaComin FC received the Young Female Player.

Player Phung Trong Luan won the Best Futsal Player. The Thai Son Nam FC player and his teammates well performed and came in third in the 2017 AFC Futsal Club Championship.

Brazilian striker Claudecir Dos Reis of Quang Nam FC won the Best Foreign Player.

The Vietnamese Golden Ball Awards was first launched in 1995 with its target of honoring and recognizing contributions and achievements of the Vietnamese footballers  during a year.
