PANO - A program to celebrate the Vu Lan, a Buddhist festival, will be held at the Hanoi Opera House on August 31. This information was released at a press conference yesterday by the Information and Communications Committee of the Buddhist Sangha of Vietnam.
The program will honor outstanding models of gratefulness to parents and ancestors, contributing to promoting the beautiful Vietnamese tradition of “When drinking water, remember its source” along with paying tribute to people who made contributions to the nation. During the program, songs and dramas featuring outstanding models of gratefulness to parents will be performed.
Since 2014, the organizing panel has chosen different themes with social meanings for this program, leaving a deep impression on the public.
During this year’s event, the organizing panel will honor outstanding models in practicing filial duty. Submissions for these models will be sent to the office of the Information and Communications Committee of the Buddhist Sangha of Vietnam, Room 221, Quan Su Pagoda, No. 73 Quan Su street, Hanoi.
