Vietnamese cuisine introduced at Brunei New Year festival

The festival is organised annually by the Brunei Ministry of Foreign Affairs to mark the traditional Hari Raya New Year, offering an opportunity for foreign representative agencies in the country to promote their images and cuisine to international friends in the host country.

Many visitors enjoyed Vietnamese famous dishes that were once introduced to heads of state, especially Bun cha - a dish of grilled pork and noodles enjoyed former US President Barack Obama during his visit to Vietnam back in 2016.

A highlight at the event was the Hari Raya congratulatory video by representative agencies in Brunei and Brunei Embassies around the world. The Vietnam Embassy's video featured performances by children of Vietnamese in Brunei, and the staff of various representative agencies.
