The award was announced by the Department for International Cooperation of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on April 14th. The department also said that other Vietnamese artists, including a folk instrumentalist, a dancer, and a circus artist, bagged four silver medals at the event.
The Pyongyang Spring Arts Festival gathered hundreds of artists from 36 art troupes and 17 countries across the world. The festival kicked off on April 11th at the East Pyongyang Grand Theater in the capital of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
During the festival, participants performed different art genres, including opera, ballet, symphony, folk dance, and music, and circus arts.
