The Vietnam-Korea Friendship Cultural Festival was first successfully held in 2022, with over 12,000 attendees in 2023. This year’s festival is combined with the “2024 Hanbok Culture Promotion Week” and the “2024 Traditional Korean Products Export Promotion Project” organized by the RoK Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. The event offers the people of Ho Chi Minh City an opportunity to experience RoK traditional culture through Hanbok (traditional Korean costume), other cultural products.
During the two nights, participants will enjoy fashion shows featuring Hanbok and Ao Dai (Vietnamese traditional long dress) collections by Korean designers Song Hyemi (Seodamhwa) and Kim Youngjin (Tchai Kim), and Vietnamese designer Thach Linh. The performances will also feature renowned Vietnamese and Korean singers, including Ricky (PICKUS), Phuong Ly, and JSOL, as well as traditional and modern Vietnamese-Korean art performances, including Korean Gugak and Vietnamese conical hat dances. Audiences will also experience K-pop dance cover performances and a special performance by a group from "Street Woman Fighter Vietnam" alongside Korean DJs.
Additionally, attendees can immerse themselves in various interactive cultural experiences, including K-pop dance, K-beauty makeup, and Korean cuisine. Other activities include a Vietnam-RoK culture and tourism quizshow and special showcases of iconic Korean content, such as K-pop and Kimchi.
Mr. Choi Seung Jin, Director of the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam, shared, “This year’s event involves the collaboration of many Korean organizations to offer a full cultural experience to the people of Ho Chi Minh City. The Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam will continue to organize various cultural exchange events across Vietnam in the future, helping to bring Vietnamese and Korean people closer to each other.”
