The Vietnamese women's football team has a good chance to play in the final stage of the 2014 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Women’s Cup.

According to the AFC draw, Vietnam team is in a group for the qualifying round with three weaker opponents, namely Hong Kong (China), Kyrgyzstan and Bahrain.

The qualifiers are scheduled to start in May next year with 16 teams competing in four groups.

The group winners will face China, Japan, the Republic of Korea and Australia, which has automatically advanced to the final round.

Vietnam holds great expectations for qualifying and the country is running a campaign to host the tournament.

It will also help the Vietnamese team fulfill its dream of attending the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
