The event is part of the activities commemorating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (1973-2023).

According to the Department of Culture and Sports of Da Nang city, the artistic programs, which last for four nights, will introduce the distinctive cultural and artistic features of the two countries, such as Vietnamese Tuong (classical opera) and traditional musical instruments, calligraphy, Japanese flower arrangement, traditional and contemporary dance and singing. In particular, two nights of rock music featuring bands from Da Nang city and Japan will be the highlight of the festival.

Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Da Nang city Ngo Thi Kim Yen, stated that the Vietnam - Japan Festival brings a new experience and allows people and tourists to feel the cooperative, friendly, trustworthy, equal, and mutually beneficial relationship between Vietnam and Japan.

The event comprises many attractive activities, including the introduction of Vietnamese and Japanese cultures, traditional cuisine from both countries, and information on education, studying abroad, tourism, and trade. These activities will continue until July 16.
