The event aims to raise people’s awareness of the position, role and importance of books in enriching their knowledge, skills and shaping their personality, as well as promoting the reading movement across society.
In addition, the event creates a chance to honor individuals and collectives for their contribution to the development of books and reading culture in the community.
This year, the theme of the “Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day” is “Developing and making reading habit more widespread.”
Also, various activities will take place, including activities to disseminate information about the value and meaning of the event in association with the development of reading habit in the community; and the launch ceremony of the “Ambassadors of Reading Culture” and online book introduction contests, to name but a few.
Under the plan, the event will be organized in different forms in line with COVID-19 prevention and control regulations.
The event will run from mid-March to the end of April, with the major activities ranging from April 15 to 21.
