The exhibition showcases 200 photos which are divided into four sections, including one on the cooperation between the Lao military and people and their Vietnamese counterparts in the struggle against U.S. imperialism and its henchmen from 1955 to 1975, and another on the bilateral cooperation in the two countries' national defense, construction and development after 1975.

On March 13, 1954, the Vietnamese revolutionary army launched the first attack on the French colonialists’ heavily fortified base of Dien Bien Phu, starting a 56-day historic campaign whose victory directly led to the signing of the Geneva Accords on ending the war and restoring peace in Indochina. The victory also created a foundation and conditions for the Vietnamese people to secure victory in the resistance war against the U.S., liberate the South, and reunify the country in 1975.
