Historical witnesses share untold stories in the program held by the Vietnam Journalists' Association on the evening of April 23.

The program affirmed the historical significance of the resistance war against the U.S. imperialists while praising the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh.

Besides, the organizing panel revealed untold stories of historical witnesses, including former reporters of the People’s Army Newspaper Senior Colonel Anh Ngoc and Senior Colonel Nguyen Manh Hung, and Hero of the People’s Armed Forces Senior Colonel Han Van Quang, and others.

* On the same day, the first Ghe Ngo (Khmer Boat) race of District 3 took place on Nhieu Loc canal, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City.

An overview of the Ghe Ngo race

It was part of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - 2025), the Vietnamese Ethnic Groups’ Culture Day (April 19), and the New Year festival of the Khmer people's Chol Chnam Thmay.

Nine teams from Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Binh Phuoc and Kien Giang competed at the event. After the two-hour race, Khland Muong team (Chau Thanh district) took the first place, followed by Thon Don team (Rach Gia city) and Xa Xiem Moi (Chau Thanh district). All three teams came from Kien Giang.

On the sidelines of the boat race, other exciting activities were carried out, including the culinary exchange event and artistic program, and more.
