Sports Festival and Ethnic Groups’ Cultural Day held in Tuyen Quang
PANO - In a joyful and festive atmosphere in celebration of the country’s major holidays, on April 23, Son Vi border commune in Tuyen Quang province organized its first Sports Festival and the Ethnic Groups’ Cultural Day 2026, attracting the participation of a large number of officials, armed forces, and local people.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Tran Viet Hung, Vice Chairman of the Son Vi commune People’s Committee, affirmed that the event was a meaningful and practical activity, contributing to improving the spiritual life of the people, strengthening the great national unity bloc, and preserving and promoting the good traditional cultural values of the locality.

The festival featured a wide range of traditional sports and mass-participation competitions, such as tug-of-war, stick pushing, crossbow shooting, stilt walking, etc., and athletics.

Alongside the sporting activities, the cultural day also provided an opportunity for ethnic groups in the area to exchange, tighten solidarity, and showcase their traditional identities through costumes, cuisine, languages, folk songs, and distinctive customs.
