This was one of the largest events to promote tourism in the city and to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the capital’s liberation (October 10, 1954 - 2024).

The Hanoi Autumn Festival 2024, a unique and vibrant event, will run from September 19 to 22, drawing visitors from 12 provinces and cities nationwide, associations, clubs, and tourism businesses, to name but a few.

Speaking at the event, Head of Hanoi Center for Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion (HPA) Nguyen Anh Duong said that the Hanoi Autumn Festival 2024 is a large-scale event aiming to effectively leverage the potential of each locality, creating momentum for rapid and sustainable socio-economic development in the region.

“With the experiences in the second festival, the people and tourists will have a good impression of Hanoi, an attractive, quality and safe destination,” he shared.

The program has three main activities, namely the opening ceremony, a farmtrip to survey attractive tourist sites in Hanoi, and talks themed “Hanoi Autumn Tourist Destination” at the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long. Additionally, there will be a ceremony honoring attending organizations and an artistic program titled “Dream Paradise 5 - Autumn Hanoi in my heart. ”

Notably, a program showing the craftsmanship of skilled artisans and  an exhibition of products of outstanding traditional craft villages in Hanoi will be held at Ly Thai To Statue and Bat Giac (Octagon) House area.

These activities contribute to introducing the image and cultural values of the country’s Capital to domestic localities and international friends, enhancing the potential of traditional crafts villages of Hanoi, thereby contributing to the socio-economic development of the city.

Typical products of Hanoi’s handicraft villages have been showcased, including Giang Cao ceramics, Ha Thai lacquerware, Phu Vinh bamboo and rattan weaving, Ngu Xa bronze casting, Chau Khe gold and silver art, Kieu Ky gold laminating and gilding, Quoc Oai wood carving, and Van Phuc silk.

Along with plentiful exciting activities, the organizing panel hopes that the residents in Hanoi and tourists will have meaningful and enjoyable experiences at the Hanoi Autumn Festival 2024.

At the opening ceremony, organizations, units, and businesses donated over VND 120 million to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi to support Typhoon Yagi-affected people.
