Protecting the environment, proactively responding to climate change, and recovering from environmental incidents are critical and existential missions for humanity.
It is clear that environmental degradation and climate change directly affect the health of troops as well as the combat readiness, training, production, and overall military development of units. Therefore, environmental protection and proactive responses to minimize the adverse effects of climate change are both urgent and long-term, fundamental tasks. These are closely linked to military and defense duties and are the responsibility of all Party committees, chains of command, political commissars, political officers, and every officer and soldier throughout the military.
In recent years, the entire military has taken many practical and effective actions in environmental protection and climate change mitigation. Agencies and units have organized educational campaigns to raise awareness among troops and the public; actively participated in and served as a core force for rescue and disaster relief operations, oil spill responses, and the clearance of unexploded ordnance and chemical contamination; and invested in waste and wastewater treatment systems in military enterprises, hospitals, and epidemic prevention facilities.

The exhibition, which features 80 photos selected from 120 outstanding entries in a photo contest on environmental protection, aims to raise awareness and responsibility among officers and soldiers for participating in environmental protection, proactively responding to climate change, and addressing environmental incidents in their units and localities. These efforts will contribute to improving the health of soldiers, the quality of training and combat readiness, and building clean, green, and beautiful military landscapes.
Through valuable photographic works, the exhibition promptly reflects and spreads the proactive spirit of "Uncle Ho’s Soldiers" in environmental protection, climate change response, and environmental incident recovery, contributing to the development of a green, sustainable economy and fostering harmony between people and nature.
