Speaking at the event, the Cultural Counselor of the Embassy Ane Kirsten Andersen said that the contest presented an opportunity to primary students to develop their creativity and imagination while contributing to enhancing the friendship and cultural understanding between the two countries’ peoples, particularly the young generations.
The painting competition attracted the participation of nearly 800 students from primary schools nationwide. A special prize went to Do Khanh Linh, a third grader at Le Van Tam Primary School in Thanh Hoa city. The two first prizes went to Nguyen Minh Hoang from Hanoi, a fourth grader, and Vu Huyen Phuong, a third grader from Bac Giang.
Addressing the awarding ceremony, the Danish Ambassador to Vietnam Charlotte Laursen emphasized how impressed she was with the creativity of the young competitors.
In 2016, on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of Vietnam-Denmark diplomatic relations, the first competition, themed “Denmark in your eyes”, was launched by the Danish Embassy in Vietnam and VIDAFA. Since then, the competition has been held yearly with different themes each year.
