PANO - The Executive Board of the Vietnamese Writers’ Association has nominated a book by renown writer Nguyen Nhat Anh, Cho tôi xin một vé đi tuổi thơ”, for the 2010 ASEAN Literature Award.

The book, wittily attaching pretty and unaffected memoirs of childhood to the real life of adults, has been highly appreciated by numerous local writers and critics.

The Vietnamese Writers’ Association presented one of its awards in 2009 to Nguyen Nhat Anh’s “Cho tôi xin một vé đi tuổi thơ”.

The ASEAN Literature Award, introduced in 1979 by the Thai Royal Family, aims to honour ASEAN’s popular writers and poets.

Since 1996, the Award has honoured 13 Vietnamese writers, namely To Huu, Ma Van Khanh, Huu Thinh Nguyen Khai, Nguyen Duc Mau, Nguyen Kien, Bang Viet, Do Chu, Phu Tram, Le Van Thao, Tran Van Tuan, Nguyen Ngoc Tu and Cao Duy Son.
