According to the Tay ethnic group’s beliefs, on the Moon, there is the mother Moon and 12 daughters who take care of the crops for the people on the Earth. Since the Tay people depend on agricultural products, they always pray for favorable weather and abundant crops.

Nang Hai Festival is held in early spring to invite Nang Hai (the daughters of the mother Moon) to the Earth and help people in their work.

Below are photos of the festival.
