Themed “Cultural Heritage with Integration and Development,” the festival week, running from June 7 to 12, gathers 30 art troupes from France, Belgium, Spain, Canada, Japan, China, the Republic of Korea, and Vietnam.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, member of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee and head of its Commission for External Relations Le Hoai Trung acknowledged the achievements of the festival over the past 24 years. He said that the event has helped popularize the typical cultural features of the country and charming beauty of Hue and its people. It has also been a rendezvous of art troupes from countries around the world and provinces and cities in Vietnam to introduce their cultural beauty and promote exchange, thus strengthening cooperation and friendship ties among countries to build a world of peace and prosperity. The event has contributed to tourism and socio-economic development. 

Hue International Arts Festival Week features opening and closing ceremonies at Kien Trung Palace, a street art show at Ngo Mon Square, a street festival, a show for domestic and international art troupes, and a cuisine event, among others.
