PANO – On June 21st, the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in association with the Hanoimoi Newspaper and People’s Committee of Ba Dinh district, held a ceremony to launch the 43rd Hanoimoi Newspaper Open Running Tournament for Peace 2016 at the Quan Ngua Stadium.

The event is a practical and meaningful activity to welcome the successes of the 12th Party Congress, and the elections of 14th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all-level for the 2016-2021 term, and to mark the 91st anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.

Nearly 3.000 runners, including officials, workers, civil servants, soldiers and students from 52 units in Ba Dinh district participated in the event.

The final round of the tournament will be held at Hoan Kiem Lake on October 9th. The event is expected to attract more than 2,000 runners.

This annual event of Hanoi aims to encourage the urbandwellers to keep fit, follow a healthy lifestyle and promote cooperation and friendship between Hanoi and other localities and international friends.
