PANO – 107 outstanding students from Hanoi universities and academies, with their best academic records, were honored at the Temple of Literature on August 25th.
Speaking at the ceremony, Hanoi Party Committee member Ho Quang Loi said that the city would continue create favorable conditions for those students to demonstrate their qualifications. Especially, Hanoi will give them financial assistance in their studying higher degrees in foreign nations and then hire them in the city’s agencies.
After offering incenses and writing in the temple's traditional golden book, the students had a talk with economist Pham Chi Lan and Dr. Doan Huong. They affirmed that the students’ present achievements are only the first step and they should continue to try their best to study, work and contribute to the national development in the time to come.
Up to this time, 1,080 best graduates were honored and presented with certificates of merit by the Hanoi People’s Committee at the Temple of Literature, the first university in Vietnam.
Among the honored, there were a foreign student, Park Young Su (the Republic of Korea), from University of Social Sciences and Humanities, under the Hanoi National University, a disabled female student Tran Thi Thom from the Hanoi National University of Education, 5 top students in entrance-exams, and 40 others as members of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
The same day, they took part in a seminar, “Outstanding students with movement of building new rural areas”, at the Water Resources University, and will meet leaders of the Party, State and Hanoi City at the State President's Office on August 27th.
