Gia Lai festival promotes cultural heritage of ethnic groups
PANO – A festival to preserve and promote the cultural heritage of ethnic minority groups in Gia Lai province and consolidate the relations among them was organized at the provincial museum on February 23.

The event attracted the participation of artisans and people from the Jrai, Bahnar, Muong, Tay, Nung, Thai, H’mong communities and tourists from different localities.
The festival impressed visitors with well-organized cultural spaces and well-prepared performances. Festival goers were entertained with the Muong, Tay and Nung people’s singing and dances, H’mong people’s “khen” (a type of bamboo pipe) dance, the gong and T’rung (traditional bamboo xylophone of the ethnic groups in the Central Highlands) performances of the Jrai and Bahnar communities.
In addition, visitors had a chance to take part in folk games and enjoyed traditional cuisines of these participating groups.
