Germany-based foundation commits support for Vietnamese music students
PANO – The Vietnam National Academy of Music and the Dao Minh Quang Foundation signed an agreement on August 31 in Hanoi, according to which the Germany-based foundation will financially support the Vietnamese academy with more than VND 1 billion.
The Dao Minh Quang Foundation, formed under Germany’s civil law, implements public and charity activities, encouraging the development of cooperation between Vietnam and Germany. In December 2016, for its work on charity activities, the foundation was recognized as a legally-independent foundation by the German Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection and as a public-welfare foundation by the Finance Department of Berlin.
In every academic year, the foundation will present prizes to the top eight students in their graduation exams and 20 other scholarships, worth VND 10 million each, to a number of faculties of the Vietnam National Academy of Music. The academy and the foundation will select students and lecturers to form a German-Vietnamese traditional music troupe. Apart from that, the foundation will also support and cooperate with the academy in carrying out marketing activities and searching for performance opportunities in Vietnam and Germany.
Addressing the signing ceremony, Director of the Vietnam National Academy of Music Le Anh Tuan stressed that the support of the Dao Minh Quang Foundation would encourage students in their study while contributing to strengthening the friendly cooperation relations between Vietnam and Germany. The head of the academy promised to make full use of the financial support of the foundation.
The foundation, established by Dr. Dao Minh Quang, aims at paying tribute to the founder’s family, teachers, friends and those who have brought him knowledge and experience of life over the past time.
The time-span of the cooperation between the Vietnamese academy and the German foundation lasts from the beginning of the academic year of 2017-2018 to the end of the academic year of 2019-2020.
