Artistic works by 14 artists, who were not born in Germany but are well-recognised for their successes in the country, are being showcased by the Goethe Institute at Hanoi Fine Arts University at 42 Yet Kieu street in Hanoi from June 13-23.
The works are diverse in types, from coal-painting on Japanese paper (by Giuseppe Spagnulo) to object arrangement (by Joseph Kosuth, Nam June Paik) to illustrate different aspects of life.
Most modern German art works were not recognised until the last three decades when the East and the West began to find a more common voice in art in Berlin and the city became a centre of world art along with Paris and New York.
