Speaking at the press conference, Dr. Ngo Phuong Lan, Chairwoman of the VFDA, Co-Head of the Organizing Committee, and Festival Director, stated that DANAFF IV, themed "Bridging Asia to the World," will take place in Da Nang from June 28 to July 4. She reaffirmed the festival's role as a platform connecting filmmakers, film industries, and audiences across Asia, aiming to bring the creativity, humanistic values, and cultural identity of Asian cinema to the global stage.
This year's festival will showcase over 100 films across various categories, including the Asian Film Competition, Vietnamese Film Competition, Panorama of Asian Cinema, Vietnamese Cinema Today, 40 Years of Doi Moi in Vietnamese Cinema, and Focus on American Cinema.
DANAFF IV will also host three international seminars focusing on key issues in contemporary cinema. These forums will bring together policymakers, scholars, industry experts, and filmmakers from Vietnam and abroad to discuss future development opportunities for the domestic film industry. The seminar topics include “Vietnamese Cinema in the Doi Moi Era,” “Artificial Intelligence, Digital Technology, and Intellectual Property Protection in Cinema,” and “The U.S. Film Industry: Successful Models and Lessons for Vietnam.”
In a new update this year, all festival tickets will be available free of charge through the official website. Audiences can select screening times and venues online, reserve up to two tickets per screening, and receive electronic tickets with QR codes via email.
From June 29 to July 3, DANAFF IV will present a series of outdoor screenings at public venues across Da Nang and nearby areas, including APEC Park, the Da Nang Center for Culture and Cinema, Hoa Khanh Ward Administrative Center Square, Tam Thanh Beach, and Hoai River Square.
